Introduction

A private journey, shaped around you

This is more than a spearfishing trip. It is a complete Arctic adventure, combining several days of halibut hunting with a stay at an exclusive lodge on the Norwegian coast. Each day, we head out aboard Archipelago, our fast and comfortable expedition yacht, to explore carefully selected areas known for halibut. Surrounded by mountains, fjords and untouched coastline, we search for the best possible conditions before entering the water to freedive and hunt for one of the Arctic's most impressive fish. The days are shaped by the weather, the sea and the experience level of the guests. Our local team takes care of the planning, transport, equipment and safety, allowing you to focus fully on the experience in the water. After a full day at sea, we return to the lodge to relax, enjoy good food and prepare for the next day's adventure. This experience is designed for confident freedivers and experienced spearfishers who want more than a single day on the water. It is a private and personal journey into some of Northern Norway's most spectacular coastal areas, with every day offering a new place to explore.

What You Can Expect

An authentic day on the water

Weather, wildlife and local conditions may change the final plan.

Day 1 — Arrival and sail to Havnnes

Guests board Archipelago in Tromsø. We set course for Havnnes. The crew presents the programme and goes through all information. On arrival, guests are met by the team at the lodge and checked in.

Day 2 — First dive

We check all equipment and head out for the first dive. Each day combines spearfishing with quality meals that set the tone.

Days 3–6 — Spearfishing at different locations

We visit different locations for spearfishing throughout the journey. Each day builds on the previous with fresh grounds and water conditions.

Day 7 — Return journey

On the final day, we sail guests back to Tromsø by vessel.

Wildlife & Nature

The natural environment

The waters around Tromsø and Northern Norway are rich with marine life. Halibut, cod, pollock and other species inhabit the reefs and drop-offs. The underwater landscape is dramatic — steep walls, kelp forests and clear water. We fish responsibly within local regulations and size limits, respecting the marine environment as a place to be experienced with respect.

Archipelago

Expedition Motor Catamaran

Archipelago is the flagship of Northern Yachting AS, an expedition motor catamaran built for extended private journeys through the fjords and islands of Northern Norway. The catamaran hull gives exceptional stability and generous deck space, making her an ideal platform for whale watching, northern lights cruises and photography.

Inside, a warm and fully insulated interior, a heated saloon with panoramic windows and comfortable overnight cabins let guests stay out for several days and wake up in a different fjord each morning. She is the mobile base for our most exclusive journeys, including whale adventures from Lodge Havnnes and sea to summit ski touring to remote peaks.

Onboard dining is prepared by the crew, including Pelle, our marine biologist and chef. Operated from Tromsø with captain, guide and chef on every journey.
